During the past twelve months, "LDZ ritošā sastāva serviss" Ltd., a subsidiary of SJSC "Latvijas dzelzceļš" (LDz), has been paying special attention to expanding the range of services and increasing the added value provided to customers, as well as to furthering operations in both the existing and new target markets.
Ukraine, a country with a well-developed railway infrastructure and large amount of rolling stock, is one of the largest and strategically most important target markets for the company. This past summer, "LDZ ritošā sastāva serviss" Ltd. received the СЕРТ АСУ certificate, which authorizes the company to provide locomotive repair services to locomotive owners based in Ukraine.
In order to expand its operations in Ukraine, "LDZ ritošā sastāva serviss" Ltd. has entered into an agreement with JSC Interrail, the largest railway company in Ukraine, whose management team includes employees with comprehensive knowledge of the specifics of Ukrainian railway operations in both the public and private sectors.
JSC Interrail Director Vitaly Gretsev, Chief Operating Officer Sergey Umanets and Supervisory Board Member Ivan Fyodorov participated in signing the agreement.
The СЕРТ АСУ certificate authorizes "LDZ ritošā sastāva serviss" Ltd. to perform both running repairs of locomotives, which includes repairs of various locomotive parts and wheelsets, as well as overhaul or renew locomotives, extending their service life, which entails partial replacement of electrical connections, superstructure, frame, load-bearing metal structures and others.
